Where to Grab a Cocktail (or 5) in Phoenix
K so before we get into all the juicy details on where to grab some tasty ass cocktails in some cool AF bars in Phoenix, Arizona, here’s the backstory:
Posted on IG November 29th, 2019: My sugarpapi, AKA Kev, brought me to #Arizona for my 30th birthday so I could check Antelope Canyon off my bucket list. This is not Antelope Canyon. But this v rare snowstorm also hit the canyon. And everything is now shut down & cancelled. I’m legitimately 💩’d that I’ll be leaving AZ still waiting to see Antelope Canyon, but we’re currently on our way back to Phoenix to make the most of this trip. And also to run away from the gross (but beautiful) snowstorm in Sedona. It’s been a great 5 seconds, Sedona ✌🏻
So back to the draanks sitch - long story short, we spent more time in Phoenix than originally planned. Which consisted of getting turnt up every night for like 4 nights. But since we showed up in Phoenix without a plan, we asked around for recommendations and happened to get some wicked recos from locals. So here I am, to divulge all their secrets with you.
Also, side note: To make the most of your pub crawl experience, The Sheraton downtown is a prime hotel location FYI.

Chico Malo - Mexican food and classy cocktails. Super trendy, cool decor.
Bitter and Twisted - A cool cocktail bar set in the old Arizona prohibition headquarters. There was a wait to get in when we went and we heard about this bar from pretty much everyone we asked for recos from. V popular, V well known.
Blue Hound - Another bar we were recommended to visit, but never got around to. Check it out and lemme know how it is if you ever go!
Undertow - First underground tiki bar.
Little rituals - Located on the 4th floor of a hotel, it’s got wicked views and great cocktails. We were told to order the What Pie. What? Idk, we didn’t give it a try, but you should if you make it there.
Century Grand - PSA: By far one of the most memorable restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Like I’m gonna try to describe it, but words won’t do it justice. This resto is set in a 20s themed train station - the main bar surrounds a massive wall decorated to look like a train ticket booth, where you can also enjoy dinner dim-sum style. Servers come around with silver carts decked out with little plates, and you pretty much choose what you wanna eat right off the cart (get the beef tartare, it’s to-die-for). There’s also a wicked whiskey bar that looks like an old library/cigar lounge/barber shop, but it’s none of those - instead, the walls are lined with over 500 different bottles of whiskey. Plus, the servers are all young hipster-y men with trendy beards dressed in suspenders and roaring-twenties style hats. They totally fit the part. K but get this: the whiskey bar is located on the loading platform of... A TRAIN. Yes, a train. They brought in a whole effing train, simulated it like it’s actually moving and decorated the 💩out of it to look like a first class lounge carriage from the 20s, which you can board to enjoy cocktails and dessert. HOW COOL RIGHT?
